From my battle-tested Project Management process to my many years as an experienced Virtual Assistant, I'm here for you.
The greatest benefit that I have found when advertising as a Virtual Assistant is the money! When you're hiring a traditional Admin to work at your company, you are hiring someone to be at your company whether they are "working" or not.
For example, there are downtimes at every company, moments where employees don't have any urgent work to do and they begin to have "water cooler talk". Meaning they aren't working, they are either on their phone, chatting with other co-workers or, in a lot of cases, surfing the net.
For example, if you hire an Administrative Assistant, full-time (36+ hours a week), with a salary of $10/hour. Here is the hypothetical breakdown:
· 40 hours per week @ $10/hr = $1600 per month
· Health Benefit payout = $200 per month
· Supplies and materials (including computer, phone, etc) = $300 per month
· That's a total of $2100 per month, on one employee
An average employee takes 3 breaks per day, (2) 15-minute breaks and an hour lunch break. That's an hour and a half free time = $15 a day, $75 a week, $300 a month ... FREE MONEY! Let's be honest, in an average 8 hour work day, minus the 1.5 hours of breaks, an average employee does about 4 hours of solid work. Instead of giving away about $1,000 a month, why not just pay for the work that is done and not the time sitting around in an office.
As a Virtual Assistant, I only charge for the time that I am actually working, not my downtime or lunch and snack time.
